Blue Crew Athlete of the Month: Sarah Moasser
January 2016
Sarah is in her second year of chemical engineering and paddled with Iron Dragons this past season. Not only has she been killing it in the gym and on the erg, she’s also been setting a great example for rookies with her drive and enthusiasm.
What has been the most enjoyable part of the training season so far?
The most enjoyable moment for me was breaking the 400m barrier in 2 minutes on the erg.
What do you like most about Iron Dragons?
We are not just a team that paddles together. We are a family that supports, protects, and loves each other.
Who or what inspires you the most to go to the gym and improve?
Each and every single member of New Dragons – if they are going to the gym 3 hours a week, we should be there 9 hours a week.
What’s your favourite part about training at Afterburn?
My favourite part about Afterburn is that I can see myself paddle in the mirror and I get a chance to fix my stroke.
What other sports do you enjoy? What are your hobbies?
Basically if the sport involves water, I’m down! On water, in water, around water, whatever.
What are you most looking forward to this season?
Winning 200m at Toronto Island. Keeping our title as National Champions is a close second, if you were wondering!
